HIPs due for dummy run next year

Home Information Packs (HIP) will be given a dummy run next year the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) has confirmed today.

Housing minister, Yvette Cooper, said this morning: “The programme's development, including proposals for the Home Condition Report (HRC) Registers and the ‘dry run’ in 2006 are in good shape and industry involvement with government should ensure that public confidence continues to grow in the build up to the packs’ introduction in early 2007.” The partnership scheme will look at several options as to how the final certificate scheme will work including proposals that a not for profit company predominately owned by industry and approved by government run the scheme, says the ODPM.
