Workers fail to grasp 'complex' company pensions

As little as 40% of employers think their staff ‘appreciate' pensions as part of company benefits, a survey from human resources consultant Mellon suggests.

This is a 73% drop on last year, the research adds. Mellon, says this figure is set to decrease further, as 67% of employers are not confident about the future of employer-sponsored pensions. Respondents feel this is due to a lack of understanding on the part of their employees, and the complex nature of the schemes, despite the large amount of work on legislative changes to promote such schemes.
