As many as seven in ten young employees are failing to join their company personal pension scheme, new research indicates.
A survey, questioning 1,800 individuals by pensions specialist, Clerical Medical has found as few as 15% of respondents between the ages of 19 and 25, are ‘confident’ of contributing towards such schemes in the near future. Moreover, more than 90% of people within that age bracket, feel it is the job of government to provide for the population in retirement, while a third of respondents believe a clearer understanding of pensions contributions might entice them to alter their current stance.
