Free service for cold call 'opt-out' check

A free service has been launched which allows firms to check whether business telephone and fax numbers are on the ‘opt-out' list from receiving direct marketing cold calls.

The www.numbercheck.co.uk website automatically checks numbers entered against both the Corporate and ‘individuals’ TPS lists to remove any chance of error. A new law was implemented on June 25th – (see previous IFAonline story: Hot law on cold calling warning) which now requires all firms conducting "cold calls" on companies to check whether a firm has requested it be taken off the central list of businesses who choose not to receive random calls from firms.
