Cicero Consulting says the Labour party's election manifesto contains little new material or commitments regarding pensions, savings and the treatment of the elderly.
The most significant policy commitments, says Cicero, are the continuation of Pensions Credit and the intention to make it a right to work beyond age 65. Labour has also committed itself to promoting a greater voice for pension scheme members within company pension schemes. The party says it will push ahead with private public collaboration and intends to pilot individual accounts for the elderly to spend on services, cleaning and social services.
