Edeus plans the mortgage 'big bang'

Edeus, the mortgage lender created by ex-HBOS duo Michael Bolton and Alan Cleary, is planning to make instant mortgage offers at its launch.

Work is thought to be going on behind the scenes to enable the lender to make mortgage offers at point of sale by making better use of automatic valuation models (AVM). Edeus managing director Cleary admits testing has been taking place on the lender’s IT system for several weeks and it is now entering a second phase of testing the platform in a live environment. He says the IT platform currently has a green light for launch in September and he is “80% confident“ the system will be ready for launch along with the planned 650 products Edeus intends to launch on day one.
