Browne and Lewis join the Treasury

John Healy has replaced Stephen Timms as financial secretary to the Treasury while Ivan Lewis has stepped in as economic secretary in the latest government junior minister reshuffle.

Brownite Healy previously served at the Treasury as economic secretary – the minister responsible for overseeing the regulation and development of the financial services industry – so his appointment may come as no surprise given his previous experience. His arrival, however, means Stephen Timms is reshuffled back to the Department for Work and Pensions, where he previously spent six months, as minister for pensions, having twice previously held the post of financial secretary at the Treasury.
