Tony Blair's cabinet reshuffle sparked real concern about planned announcements for pension reform, following the removal of minister for pensions reform Stephen Timms to the Treasury and the arrival of his replacement James Purnell.
The reaction of industry is one of caution, and in some cases cynicism, as there are fears the publication of the DWP’s white paper on pensions will now miss its expected May 18th arrival date. But every other comment from DWP ministers answering questions in House of Commons this afternoon suggest otherwise – the paper will be “published by the end of this month”.
