Home information packs are dead

It will no longer be compulsory for home information packs to contain a home condition report - effectively killing off the packs.

Sources close to Westminster have told IFAonline Housing Minister Yvette Cooper is expected to make the annoucement to the House of Commons shortly. There has been mounting opposition to Hips in recent weeks, with at least 125 backbench MPs reported to be against their implementation. Opposition to the packs has also been voiced by both the Conservative Party and many sources within the mortgage industry, particularly lenders.
