RDR unaffected by Dan Waters move - FSA

The timetable and structure of the RDR will remain unchanged, the FSA says, despite announcing a major restructure of its retail division.

It says while RDR head Dan Waters will step down from his current role as head of retail policy to head up a new unit, the remainder of the team will remain unchanged. Waters will head up the retail conduct risk division - previously part of the retail policy unit - which will enable the FSA "to focus more on ensuring firms are achieving the right consumer outcomes". The FSA says it is in the process of appointing a director to replace Waters in retail policy and is not confining its search internally.
