FTSE starts week at a loss

The FTSE opened at 6536.5p this morning after falling 30.9 points, or 0.47%, in early trading.

The morning’s biggest climber was Ent. Inns, which opened at 684.5p after increasing by 10.5 points, or 1.56%. Barratt Developments followed at 1016.00p, rising 11 points, or 1.09% while Tate & Lyle climbed six points, or 1.07%, reaching 565.5p. Imperial Chemical Industries increased by six points, or 0.96%, opening at 630.5p and Persimmon rose 11 points, or 0.91%, opening at 1214.00p. Kazakhmys was the morning’s biggest loser, dropping 27 points, or 2.11%, plummeting to 1255.00p. Antofagasta followed, falling 12.5 points, or 2.02%, to 606.00p and Schroders fell by 24 points, or 1.8%, ...
