Friends Prov CEO reassures IFAs over merger

IFAs should feel confident about the Friends Provident and Resolution merger, Friends Prov life and pensions chief executive Ben Gunn says.

The message to IFAs is simple Gunn says: “The merger will benefit from the strengths and expertise of both sides, the best of both worlds”. “IFAs will be dealing with the same people they have been for a number of years, but with a stronger and improved company base,” he says. On the proposal to merge F&C and Resolution Asset Management, Gunn sees very little change to either business. He quashed the notion Resolution Asset Management’s “boutique” range of funds did not blend well with F&C. “We think they compliment each other, and the two businesses are closer than people realise,”...
