The latest monthly house price index figures from Rightmove suggest annualised inflation is running at up to 25% in certain UK regions as the gap between demand and supply refuses to budge.
That gap has pushed house prices up to an average of £188,962 across all regions in England and Wales, with average prices gaining 2.4% in the past month alone. Average annualised inflation is running at 15.6%, but it is above 20% in five of the 10 regions surveyed. Rightmove says it sees no slowdown in sight unless the gap between demand for housing and supply can be closed.
