AXA considers binning ongoing duty of disclosure

AXA is considering scrapping the ongoing duty of disclosure across its protection range.

The firm says removing the requirement would make the applications process for its products simpler. Last month, Legal & General also abolished the duty, which requires consumers to notify their provider of any change to their health or circumstances before their policy starts. Graham Harvey, AXA managing director, protection, says although there can be a three month gap between agreeing terms with the client and their policy beginning, scrapping the duty of disclosure would make the whole process less complex. “We have not decided whether we definitely will be scrapping the ongoing duty...
