More than one in every two firms fears a regulatory onslaught as a result of the credit crunch, research suggests.
According to a poll conducted by law firm Eversheds, 55% are concerned by an "anticipated" crackdown with 40% worried about investigations by the FSA and Serious Fraud Office. Additionally, the study suggests the economic turmoil will cause serious and long-term damage to the sector with over half saying it could take as long as two years to recover.
