Killer IFA given life sentence

Wang Yam, a bankrupt former financial adviser, killed reclusive author Allan Chappelow, 86, in June 2006 and was convicted of his murder earlier this month. Yam is thought to have spent years conning members of the British Chinese community out of money and targeted Mr Chappelow after declaring himself bankrupt. The court sentenced him to life imprisonment, with a minimum term of 20-years, for murder, burglary and other offences.
