ABI talks may spell end for wet signatures

The trade body is in talks with the Department of Health (DoH) over scrapping the legal requirement for a wet signature ( made on paper rather than a faxed or e-mail copy) when a GP's report (GPR) is obtained. But ABI assistant director Nick Kirwan says he does not see why any move could not be extended to all stages of the application process. According to the ABI, a 'durable medium', such as a recorded conversation or digital signature, would be "more robust".
