ABI bags Satchell

The Association of British Insurers (ABI) has appointed current Friends Provident group chief executive Keith Satchell as its new chairman.

Satchell replaces outgoing Richard Harvey of Aviva, who has completed his 2-year tenure. Group finance director at Legal and General, Andrew Palmer meanwhile, steps in as chairman of the ABI’s Financial Regulation and Taxation Committee, replacing Satchell. Satchell says: “I am delighted to be taking on this important role at a crucial time for the industry and our customers. I will build on Richard’s work to strengthen consumer confidence in our industry.
