Half of IFAs going 'cautious' in 2008

Nearly half of IFAs will be recommending more cautious investment products and funds to customers in 2008, according to research from AXA Wealth Management.

However, the survey of IFAs across the country also found clients are not sharing this cautious mood; over half of IFAs (54%) claim current stock market volatility was having no impact on clients' investment preferences. Only 12% of IFAs said their clients were sticking to cash-based investments until the market became less volatile while a meager 6% said clients were favoring deposit-based investments and 6% were looking for capital protection.
