Assureweb signs investment for a new platform

Assureweb has signed Prudential as a new shareholder in the IT firm at the same time as revealing major new development of its core platform is to be unveiled.

No specific details are yet available about the new platform development but a sum of £.7.5m is being invested by Assureweb over two years – thanks to investment from Prudential and existing shareholders – to enhance the firm’s technology offering and “an ambitious plan” which is said to have the full support of its shareholders. A statement issued by Assureweb says the Pru is the sixth investor in the business, alongside Aegon Scottish Equitable, Clerical Medical, Friends Provident, Norwich Union and Scottish Widows.
