Scottish Widows checks out of Asda life cover

Scottish Widows and supermarket giant Asda have terminated their agreement to sell life cover products at the checkout.

A deal was signed three years ago to produce a direct-offer life cover product which Asda would distribute by promoting the product through a leaflet, and Scottish Widows would subsequently administer and service through its call centre. Following a meeting today, however, the two companies have now decided to end the arrangement as the anticipated level of sales have not been reached.
