L&G produces age discrimination update

Legal & General has produced a second update on the implications for group risk benefits following the introduction of the Age Discrimination Regulations on 1 October 2006.

The update builds on the overview of the regulations outlined in the first guide and highlights the considerations for those employers who provide a flexible benefits scheme to their employees. It also contains a questions and answers section, which addresses the common questions clients are asking their advisers. James Walker, group risk technical manager at Legal & General, says there is still some misunderstanding of the new regulations and the guide should help give clarification and highlight the need for possible changes to the group risk benefits offered.
