HIPs rollout date set

Home information packs (HIPs) are to be rolled out on all properties sold in England and Wales from 14 December, it was announced today.

The announcement will come as a relief to the HIPs industry, which has suffered from a lack of business due to the packs being introduced in stages. The Government says the full rollout of HIPs will assist first time buyers by providing them with information about a property. Previously, HIPs were introduced for homes with three bedrooms or more, but recent reports suggest there was insufficient demand to supply thousands of trained energy assessors with enough work.
