Partygaming pushes FTSE higher

In early trading, the FTSE 100 index has started strongly with gains of 18.9 points, or 0.32%, to 5,968, and Partygaming is leading the way.

The online gaming site is currently up 2.59% to 118.75p, closely followed the Man Group- which has added 1.82% to 433.75p, while Amvescap has gained 9p, or 1.64% to 558p. Elsewhere Unilever is up 1.51% to £12.74 after UBS upgraded shares in the Anglo-Dutch company to "buy" from "neutral," and raised the price target, while miner BHP Billiton is also performing well with gains of 1.79% to £10.25. On the downside Gallaher Group is the biggest drag on the index with losses of 7p, or 0.77%, to 904.5p, closely followed by Cairn Energy which has slipped 14p, or 0.65%, to £21.31. Clothes ...
