The war in Iran has been an uncomfortable reminder that global investors are operating in a new era of geopolitical fragility. This has been characterised as the ‘Great Fragmentation', the end of a more centralised global system led by the US and the beginning of a more complex, contested, multi-polar world.  Governments can no longer rely on old alliances to keep them safe.
