Research by provider JPMorgan Fleming suggests women in the UK on averge already expect to have lower incomes in retirement than men.
JPMF found that working women expect average retirement income of £17,981, while men expect considerably more at £22,257. Furthermore, just one-in-five women (19%) believe they will be "comfortable" in retirement. As few as 28% of the women covered by the survey can expect to be 'secure' in retirement, based on their levels of savings and investments, JPMF adds.
