Comparison sites 'killing' online mortgage market

Evaluate Technologies has called for an urgent rise in the standards of mortgage comparison sites, arguing the industry continues to suffer from system inefficiencies with tepid leads being generated as a result.

The firm suggested that current mortgage-related comparison systems are killing the online mortgage market, with sites failing to keep up with consumer expectations of being able to use the internet to feel more in control of what they are buying, which has resulted in a sharp decline in conversions. Evaluate said that the market will only resume its previous growth trajectory when consumers and brokers are provided with a proposition that meets their needs.
