Virtual Underwriter tool for advisers launched by progress

An online underwriting tool designed to answer advisers' protection queries without the need for a phone is set to be launched by progress from Royal Liver.

The system, called Virtual Underwriter, set to go live from next week, and available on the progress website, will enable advisers to type in a question before being presented with an answer, usually via a video clip but also available in print. The firm says its video answers archive is already fairly extensive but plans to add to it where necessary to cover all protection bases. At the very least, it adds, an adviser will get a written answer to their query and can also telephone a trained underwriter direct.
