UK house prices increased by 2.1% between February and March, indicates the latest report from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.
The increase follows a fall of 0.5% during February and is up on the 0.2% increase recorded during the same period last year. The average house price in the UK for March is £183,346 - higher than the £179,491 recorded in February - and can be attributed an increase in all ‘dwelling types’, including a 3.5% jump in the purchase of detached houses and a 2.9% increase in flat purchases, according to the ODPM.
