Mortgage advice demand drops as protection prospers

Mortgage advice searches on unbiased.co.uk have declined dramatically while personal protection enquires have risen as recession fears mount.

According to the site's latest Advice Drivers report, over 125,000 consumers have requested IFA details online in the last three months in a bid to recession-proof their finances However, while mortgage advice searches have plunged by 41% compared to this time last year, the demand for personal protection advice rose. The site received 4,000 requests from consumers looking for relevant protection IFAs in the last three months; an increase of 18% on the final quarter of 2007.
