Property needs to go 'back to basics'

Income funds could have a challenging year ahead, while it is time to go ‘back to basics' in the property market, warns some of the UK's top fund managers.

Speaking at the Fidelity FundsNetwork Investment Forum, fund managers from Artemis, JP Morgan Asset Management, Aegon, Fidelity and Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP) set out how they think their respective markets will fare in the near future. Adrian Frost, head of the Artemis income fund, warned while income funds have benefited over the past few years from a “pretty good tailwind” thanks to low inflation, low interest rates and low bond yields, he warns going forward some of that is going to abate.
