Government departments should work closely with organisations such as Citizens Advice and the Resolution Foundation on finding ways to provide clear generic advice on personal accounts.
In its report on ‘Pension Reform’, the Work and Pensions Select Committee says it is important people on low to median earnings should have access to “clear financial advice and support to make the decisions they need about their financial future”. The 138 page report suggests this should be done by identifying the information and advice needs of the target group and developing an appropriate strategy for meeting them, a process which it says “will be essential to ensuring the reforms are a success”.
