Scottish Life launches RDR help site

Scottish Life has launched a retail distribution review (RDR) information website for IFAs.

The site includes a report looking at the future shape of the advice market and the future of adviser remuneration. The report says Scottish Life generally welcomes the debate on commission transparency to support the principle of customer agreed remuneration (CAR). Scottish Life welcomes moves to increase industry professionalism but has concerns about “over-reliance on academic qualifications.” The provider also believes primary advice products without price caps could lead to consumer disadvantage.
