Fewer than one in ten women believe they will have sufficient income to ensure an adequate retirement, new research indicates.
A survey of 2,000 people conducted by Friends Provident finds 57% of women do not earn enough money to save for a pension, while just 3% say Government will provide sufficient income for them in retirement. Moreover, as many as 46% of British women do not expect to receive income from a private pension when they reach retirement age, while four in ten say they will receive a pension arranged through an employer.
