Three out of ten employees do not join their company pension scheme even though their employer is willing to contribute, says research from Axa.
A study of employees suggests 28% of the 5.1m British workers have access to a company pension scheme are failed to join it or choose not to. This may be in part because evidence suggests 30% of those questioned do not know what the employer pays. This compares with a quarter (25%) of company pension scheme members are aware their employers pays between 5% and 10% of their salary into the fund and one in ten people receive over 10% of their annual salary into a pension pot.
