ABI investment committee headed by SWIP CEO

The chief executive of Scottish Widows Investment Partnership is to head up the Association of British Insurers' Investment Committee.

Chris Phillips, who has been CEO of SWIP since 2003, will replace Keith Jones of Morley Fund Management, as the new chairman of the ABI Investment Committee. Robert Talbut of Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) will continue as the deputy chairman, while Jones who has been head of the Committee since March 2004 says he will still contribute on important issues. Phillips, a former chief executive of RLAM where he oversaw the integration of Royal London, United Assurance and Scottish Life, says he is delighted to take up his new role.
