Business confidence is generally falling but there are pointers there are positive signs for the economy ahead, suggest Alliance & Leicester.

UK businesses across the board are less confident than they were last quarter, suggesting economic growth peaked then, according to the latest Business Confidence Monitor, from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank. UK confidence levels were 6.1%, down from 23.5% compard with the first quarter and the IT sector alone expects strong growth with a confidence level of 30.6%.
