Judicial review postponed for PASC enquiry

An application for a judicial review into the government's dismissal of the Parliamentary Ombudsman report on pensions has been delayed.

The Pension Action Group (PAG) last week placed papers with the High Court of Justice against the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, John Hutton, for dismissing the report ‘Trusting in the Pensions Promise’ by Ombudsman Ann Abraham. However as the Public Administration Select Committee (PASC) has announced it will be looking at the rejection of the report as part of its “Governing the Future” enquiry, the PAG has requested their application be adjourned until the PASC completes its enquiry.
