MPs approve Abraham's analysis of Gad - papers 23rd July

Many of the newspapers have lead the business pages this morning with headlines such as "Tories plan to bogof" - a story IFAonline reported yesterday on plans for LiSA.

However the Daily Telegraph also report MPs have now cleared the way to include the Government Actuary’s Department in the new Equitable Life inquiry. Ann Abraham had asked to see the Gad included in the new Parliamentary ombudsman inquity, as the Gas was strongly criticised by Lord Penrose in his report on the society's near collapse. A change to her power will require an amendment to existing legislation that the Telegraph quotes Douglas Alexander, minister for the Cabinet Office, as saying "will be made as soon as possible" after the summer break.
