House prices continue to rise

The average house price in the UK rose by 1.8%, or around £3000, in July up from £191,016 to £194,454 according to the latest official figures.

The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG), says this was a slight increase on June at 1.1% with annual house price inflation rising to 6% in July up from 5.3% in June, and the annual rate of house price growth for the three months to July rising to 5.7%. London inevitably saw greater increases with annual house price inflation rising by 7.1% in July up from 5.5% in June. The rise in prices between June and July is attributed to small rises in average prices across the board from terraced properties (0.5%), to detached homes (0.6%) and semi-detached properties (0.5%). ...
