Bolton departs as Edeus calls in administrators

Company directors at mortgage lender Edeus have called in administrators as a result of the conditions in the housing and financial markets.

Co-founder Michael Bolton has been made redundant as a result of the move, which managing director Alan Cleary says could bring down the company for good if it fails to find a new investor. Cleary says the company's problems stemmed from its original role as a mortgage lender, pointing to the struggles in the sector. He adds the firm's move, from April, into the credit and collection services arena has proved "very successful" but fears it may not be enough.
