AIFA links with Pru for landmark retirement study

A nationwide study examining the financial options open to retirees and the advice they will need is being launched by the Association of IFAs (AIFA) and Prudential UK.

AIFA says the research will review the current retirement and advice landscape in the UK, analyse consumer needs at and in retirement, and assess whether the solutions currently provided by the industry can be enhanced. It says it then plans to produce good practice guides for financial advisers to help them advise their clients on the options in retirement. A final report will also be delivered to contribute to the thinking of politicians, public policy professionals, regulators, consumer groups and the wider industry, it says.
