ABI demands cancer clarity on PMI

Companies offering Private Medical Insurance (PMI) must provide a more detailed explanation of their cancer cover, the ABI says today.

The move follows the publication of new guidance that updates the definitions of medical terms used in all PMI policy documents and information. The Association says the definitions and guidance will help ensure PMI customers are able to understand what policies do and do not cover, and compare the products of different companies more effectively. It adds the revised definitions have been developed following consultation with the industry and other groups, including the charity Cancerbackup.
