Twenty-eight million adults in the UK do not save regularly, research released by Abbey today reveals.
The bank’s fifth Savings Insight Report, claims less than half the nation (42%) is in the habit of saving regularly despite increasingly dire warning over the need to do so. It says the number of people saving regularly has remained relatively unchanged and has increased just 3% in the last decade. Those in the North of England seem to be the most likely to save with 47% of residents saving regularly while Birmingham has the lowest proportion of savers, just 35% of people saving regularly. Greater London has the second lowest proportion of savers with 38% of residents saving regularly. ...
