The Pensions Regulator has put out a consultation paper for its draft code of practice on trustee knowledge and understanding.
While not strictly law, the codes of practice is aimed at trustees, advisers, administrators and employers and provides guidance for individuals regarding pensions legislation. The new Pensions Regulator will be officially inducted on 6 April, replacing Opra as the regulator of work-based pensions in the UK. Initially, there will be 12 codes of practice, with the first code, reporting breaches of the law, taking effect next month.
