FSA preparing statement on FSCS levy

Details are expected in the next 24 hours of the FSA's response to IFAs delaying payment of the levy funding the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

A spokesperson for the FSA says the response should outline the FSA's position as well as include specific references to numbers of IFAs who may or may not have paid the FSCS levy. Regulated firms and/or individuals have until 30 days after reciept of any FSA invoice to pay the sum demanded or penalties will apply. Specifically, an administrative fee of £250 and interest on the amount outstanding will be demanded, according to FSA documents. IFAonline
