3 bed HIPs due in September

The Government has announced the rollout of Home Information Packs and Energy Performance Certificates for all homes with three bedrooms from 10 September.

HIPs and EPCs became a legal requirement when selling a home with four bedrooms or more from 1 August and the Government plans to phase in smaller properties by the end of the year. The Government says that the rollout of HIPs and EPCs for properties with one and two bedrooms will be announced in due course. Communities Minister Baroness Andrews says: “We are now ready to start rolling out HIPs and EPCs to the next part of the market as promised, and improve a home buying and selling process which currently is not working for consumers or the environment.” Mike Ockenden, director general...
