House prices have risen by 5.05% in England and Wales since the start of the year taking the average house price to £192,745 the latest Land Registry figures reveal.
However the increase at 5.05% compares to an annual increase of 10.27% for the same period last year although sales in England and Wales were up by 37.49% compared with the same period in 2005, while sales in Greater London increased by 40.66%. The report says all economic regions in England and Wales showed an increase in average prices between January and March. And there were 1032 properties worth over £1m were sold compared to 655 for the same period in 2005.
