Mary Francis will join the board at savings and general insurance group Aviva as an independent non-executive director.
As outgoing director general at the Association of British Insurers, Francis is currently a non-executive director of the Bank of England and of Centrica, but will leave the ABI next month when she hands over to Stephen Haddrill, currently director general of the DTI’s Fair Markets Group . Francis was also previously a senior Treasury civil servant, while holding positions as private secretary to the Prime Minister and deputy private secretary to the Queen.
