Brits accept their working fate

Research by pension provider Friends Provident indicates there is a growing realisation among UK adults of the need to work longer to secure an adequate pension.

In its ‘Pensions Realisation’ survey, Friends Provident finds 44% of people 2000 people questioned would ideally would retire at 55, however, only 8% expect to realise this expectation. More than two-thirds (68%) believe they will work until beyond the age of 60, while 8% believe they will be forced into a situation of working past the age of 70.
